Well, the reason I named this review title "bathtub" is simply because it is very similar to a bathtub. It starts off as warm and bubbly, and steamy, but then succumb into a cold, deflated, blank end.I'll start of with the good stuff. I love how the author spent their fair share on time studying glass to make Felix's passion seem real, and I love how Gadleigh suddenly felt so real. I actually searched it up, believe it or not 😂Now, what I didn't like about this book is the one-sided story. Now, both Felix and Lior had things going on with them, but I feel like the storyline shouldn't be so heavily drawn out, with both characters seemingly never ending to decide whenever or not to stay. Frankly, I wanted the romance to end. Even though they might have had something special, this is still a commoner and a king. I feel like in the busy to avoid the press, they also end up not caring about the citizens at all. What will they feel and think? Is there any way that this can be problematic in the future? And Lior asked all these questions about being gay, but that wasn't really important to me. I just thought about how he neglected all his new duties, ran off to Texas and married someone who almost developed anxiety for the press. The big thing in the book, when Lior gets crowned king.. Well, can't say I'm impressed. The scene wasn't even written, and when he entered, it was with confidence for some reason? I mean he literally spent the whole time before to worry and become super paranoid. And after the coronation there was no mention of duty to his country or legacy. Speaking of which... Why was Hen pregnant with twins? I mean I feel like that was unnecessary and hastily decided considering she has been in a relation in a year. Also, here the "we don't care about the crown or the people" thing again, where they just go on with their lives. Like, no paparazzi or duty we got to see.Easy said, the author was into a good storyline, and they started off good, but lack of research and detail in the end made the book come off as messy, hastily written and flat. A book about a gay king shouldn't be about the "gay" part so much, but in that case, the whole "marrying a commoner" should be flushed out first. It was like the people of Lior land didn't care or just weren't interested. The same with the supposed "paparazzi". There were one guy sneaking in taking a picture of Hen making out. Apart from that, it was nothing. No media or press. No complaints or royal duties or lack of ruler to the kingdom.Therefore...Bathtub 🛁
